Min Yiren heads a delegation to attend ICA Congress in Russia
The 23rd International Cartographic Conference (ICA) was held on August4-10, 2007 in Moscow. More than 10000 participants from over 40 countries took part in the conference. Mr. Min Yiren, Deputy Director General of State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping headed Chinese delegation to participate in the conference.
The conference elected new members of ICA Executive Committee. Mr. Li Zhilin, professor of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, was elected Vice President of ICA. Mr. Liu Yaolin, Professor of Wuhan University was elected Co-chairman of Commission on Cartography for Early Warning and Crisis Management.
China submitted 39 map products to the Commercial Cartographic Exhibition and one of them named Map of Dujiangyan Irrigation Areas, produced by Chengdu Cartographic Press won the Third Prize.
