Li Weisen meets with Korean surveying and mapping delegation

Li Weisen, Deputy Director General of SBSM met the Korean surveying and mapping delegation attending the Sino-Korea Joint Work Group Meeting of Surveying and Mapping.

Li said this year was the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relation between China and Korea, and the Exchange Year between the two countries. The past years witnessed the fast development of relationship and cooperation between China and Korea. The cooperation and exchange between the two national mapping agencies would be conducive to the development of surveying and mapping undertaking of the two countries. King, head of Korean delegation said Korean National Geographic Institute (NGII) would continue to strengthen the collaboration with China in the field of surveying and mapping and make efforts to tap new cooperation projects.

The Sino-Korea Joint Work Group is the exchange mechanism set up according to the Memorandum of Understanding for Scientific and Technical Cooperation in Surveying and Mapping between State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping of China and Korean National Geographic Institute signed in 2005, which allows the two organizations to exchange recent development and identify cooperative projects between them.
