Domestic GIS software plays key roles in many fields
Results of appraisal of domestic spatial information system software in 2007 show that China’s GIS software now covers products from platform software to various application software， and there are more than 500 GIS software enterprises in China. The software is playing key roles in such fields as land and resources management, city planning, and telecommunication management. Domestic GPS software boasts high quality and occupies a large market share. Fruitful results have also been achieved in commercializing remote sensing software.
