Chinese expedition team reaches Antarctica's highest icecap
The 24th Chinese Antarctic expedition team mounted the Antarctic Dome A at 14:45 January 14, 2008, hitting the peak of 4093 meters. It is the second time that Chinese scientists have arrived the peak after the climb by the 21st expedition team. Lu Xinshe, Director General of SBSM sent a letter to the team to express his congratulations.
The 17-member expedition team set off on December 22 for Dome A. they overcame the extreme weather conditions and finally successfully ascended the peak of Antarctica.
